My First Photo Shoot as a Makeup Artist

By Sai

Yes! I was freakin’ nervous at the beginning! It was my first time to do the models’ makeup for the Androgyny Concept. The concept is pretty interesting. It was what most people would prefer as “sexuality confusion”. Thanks to this wonderful idea by the photographer, Rydel Flores.

The makeup application is quite easy – just the basic foundation, a little bronzer and black-lined eyes. Here is a photo of my models:
(From Left to Right: Kengie, Gie, Rams, Mary and Mon)

How to get the look:

  1. Start with a clean and moisturized face. DO NOT SKIP THIS!
  2. Hide all blemishes with your concealer.
  3. Start applying your foundation and even out the color of your skin.
  4. Apply loose powder. If you don’t have a loose powder you can use your pressed powder and dab some of it all over your face and neck.
  5. Start applying your base eye shadow. I used a matte Shell color by Bobbi Brown.
  6. Line you eyes using your eye liner. Make sure to apply both in the upper and lower lash line.
  7. Define your brows.
  8. Apply your bronzer. Do not over do this because the focus is in your eyes.
  9. Moisturize your lips by applying a moisturizer or a lip balm.
  10. Apply a nude lipstick.
  11. Get your camera and start taking your Androgyny photo!

BTW, this is Ruffa Mae Quinto's sister :) Glad to have worked with her :)

I am also excited to see their group photos. This group is very dynamic! I love working with them! I hope I can do lots of makeup services for them in the near future :)
