Makeup shopping

By Sai

Two more days to go and I'll be officially a makeup artist. I'm excited and yet nervous for my upcoming photo shoot collaboration with Prince for this Frequency photo shoot. I think I did my research well. I now have the Bench UNCUT look in my mind but my makeup is not yet complete so I decided to go makeup shopping.

Honestly, I'm completing my brushes and color palettes. I need a concealer brush and foundation brush. I looked all over SM Department Store but stalls in the makeup area doesn't seem to have them. Good thing I ran into elf. I bought a foundation brush:

Frequency: an open photo shoot

By Sai

I am very happy because I will finally participate in a photo shoot as a makeup artist! Yey! This photo shoot is inspired by Bench UNCUT. A bold look at the future. Since this is the first time that I am going to do some makeup on models just like me, I researched on Bench UNCUT models' makeup. I want perfection and I will practice it at home. Here are some photos that I am studying:
I am a big fan of Iya! Look at this pose? She nailed it!

Simple steps in applying makeup

By Sai

It’s fun being a lady especially during your 20s. I believe this is the peak of your womanhood. Your skin is perfect and still elastic. However, some women are still confused in makeup application. There are dos and don’ts in makeup application. It takes skill and talent to master a professional makeup application look.

Your makeup will depend on what occasion you’re going to, the mood you want people to see and it might also depend on your wardrobe. We will soon discuss that part further. As a freelance makeup artist, I follow a step-by-step procedure on what to apply first. I want to share with you these simple steps as your simple guide in applying your own makeup.

My first professional makeup kit

By Sai

I have resisted shopping for the past two months but I guess I really can't help it. This week I bought too many things. Some are clothes; some are gifts and most are makeups.

By Sai

I was sitting in a cinema and I was supposed to watch The A-Team. Of course, there are other trailers that were shown and this love story really caught my eye and my heart :) Ken and Barbie, will they finally tie the knot in Toy Story 3?

On losing weight

By Sai

I've been struggling with weight this past few months. It's hard to bring back the old skinny me (not super skinny). I am a bit disappointed every time I see something that doesn't fit me anymore. I can't even go to go sees because I don't feel 100% confident about my body right now.

7 Foolproof Makeup Tricks and Tips from Belle De Jour

Posted by Sai

I was very thankful that I have a Belle De Jour 2010 planner! It's definitely a life saver for someone like me, someone who tends to forget almost everything hahaha! It's really a power planner and it even gave me an article to share here!

I was just browsing my BDJ this afternoon and I saw this page where it says "7 Foolproof Makeup Tricks". I read it and I really like it! I want to share it to you too! I'd be more than happy if you will comment on this post too :)

7 FOOLPROOF MAKEUP TRICKS BY BELLE DE JOUR

Makeup makes a world of difference. Putting it on is simple enough - but it takes some skill to do it right and keep it on. Here are some makeup secrets that'll help you look good all day long.

1.   Foundation Basics. Start with a clean face. Then, apply moisturizer, sunscreen, or primer to hydrate your skin. Let the moisturizer, sunscreen or primer set for a few minutes. Get rid of any excess substance with a tissue. If you're using liquid foundation, use a makeup sponge or the tips of your fingers to apply dots of foundation on your cheeks, chin, forehead, and the tip of your nose. Blend the dots together. Pay special attention to your hairline and jawline to ensure there's no obvious line. If you're using powder foundation, place some on the same spots and then blend as well. Set the foundation with loose powder immediately after application.
