Simple steps in applying makeup

It’s fun being a lady especially during your 20s. I believe this is the peak of your womanhood. Your skin is perfect and still elastic. However, some women are still confused in makeup application. There are dos and don’ts in makeup application. It takes skill and talent to master a professional makeup application look.

Your makeup will depend on what occasion you’re going to, the mood you want people to see and it might also depend on your wardrobe. We will soon discuss that part further. As a freelance makeup artist, I follow a step-by-step procedure on what to apply first. I want to share with you these simple steps as your simple guide in applying your own makeup.

1. Moisturizer. You must make sure that before you apply any makeup a moisturizer should be applied first. This will help keep your skin keep its healthy glow.
2. Concealer/corrector. I recently discovered Bobbi Brown’s corrector. It is like a concealer but better. It is applied under the eye and it gives the best concealer I’ve ever seen so far. If you don’t have Bobbi Brown’s corrector you can always purchase concealer in your favourite beauty shops.
3. Foundation. After applying your concealer/corrector, your foundation comes next. Make sure you apply it evenly because you don’t want to have uneven foundation on your face. You should also consider the right shade of foundation that matches your skin tone. It is best to find your right shade by testing it directly to your face. Find the color that perfectly looks like your face’s skin tone.
4. Loose powder. Applying loose powder will finish your basic look. It looks clean and you should not skip this step.
5. Eye shadow. Eye shadow application is next to your foundation. There are different techniques for applying different eye shadow shades. This depends on your motif. It is best to emphasize your eyes by making a smokey effect. You can never go wrong with smokey eyes.
6. Eyebrows. You should take away unnecessary strands of hair in your eyebrows. You want to have beautiful eyebrows to have a clean look. You can add clear mascara on your eyebrows to fix the look.
7. Blush on. There are different types of blush on strokes for different face shapes. You can make a round face look oval with contouring. I advise you choose earthly colours for your blush on like bronze (for contouring). I also find shades of orange interesting. If you decided to have smokey eyes make sure you apply the right amount of blush on. This will keep the balance of colors in your face. You should not emphasize your eyes and your cheeks at the same time. People will just be distracted which part of your face to look at.
8. Lipstick. With smokey eyes, you can try a red lipstick to drive attention to your lips too. I use nude colors more often because it gives you a glamour look. I find it very sophisticated.
