Hey pretty fashionistas! I'm so sorry if I wasn't able to post anything this weekend. I went to Anawangin for my first hike and summer vacation this year :) Don't worry because I will post my Anawangin trip soon :)
Do you like running? Or are you the type of person who likes to be involved in advocacy activities or into helping others? Well, I've got one stone for you and go ahead and hit two birds with it! If you're either of the two, I got one fun event for you - Walk the World :)
IF YOU'RE A RUNNER
Of course, you run because it's either your hobby or you want to stay fit. There will be a run to end hunger by the World Food Programme this 29th of May, 2011. In addition to the 2-km walk, there will be a 5-km run for both male and female as well as a competitive 10-km group run.
IF YOU'RE AN ADVOCATE
WFP Feeding Program at Piagapo, Lanao Del Sur |
I'm pretty sure that you don't like the idea that every time you're eating in a fine dining restaurant there's someone out there who's starving to death. There's a lot of people who suffer from hunger and it's the same situation that we have at Mindanao. In the press con of End Hunger: Walk the World last May 11, 2011, a video of KC Concepcion visiting a school in Mindanao shows how many students haven't yet. Most of them don't have the opportunity to eat even three times a day and that's the sad part that we have to face. For the upcoming Walk the World 2011 event happening at the SM Mall of Asia, IMAX Parking Lot, you don't have to run to help these kids fill their stomach with nutritious food. You can still get involved by visiting http://wfp.org/walktheworld and check out the photos, videos and donations.
We might be from different walks of life but we can definitely walk as one to fight hunger. Join us this May 29, 2011 in SM Mall of Asia, IMAX Parking Lot at exactly 5am. Proceeds from this event will support almost 80,000 school children in Maguindanao, Lanao Del Norte and Lanao Del Sur.
